From Stroke Survivor to Founding Stroke Survivors Australia Incorporated

In April 2022, my life took an unexpected turn when I experienced a life-altering stroke. The physical and emotional challenges that followed left an indelible mark on my journey. However, out of this adversity emerged a burning passion to create an organisation that would support stroke survivors across Australia. This is the story of how Stroke Survivors Australia Incorporated came to be and our unwavering vision for supporting stroke survivors in all aspects of their recovery.

The Journey of a Stroke Survivor:

As I navigated the challenging path of stroke recovery, I realized the immense need for comprehensive support services that addressed not only the physical recovery but also the emotional, social, and psychological aspects of recovery. I encountered countless stroke survivors who, like me, faced various obstacles and felt a sense of isolation on their journey to reclaim their lives. Inspired by their resilience and driven by a desire to make a difference, I set out to create an organisation that would provide holistic support to stroke survivors throughout Australia.

With a steadfast determination to bring about change, I founded Stroke Survivors Australia Incorporated. Our organisation aims to be the guiding light for stroke survivors, their families, and their caregivers. Our vision is simple yet profound: to support stroke survivors in all aspects of their recovery and empower them to regain control over their lives.
