About the Role
Are you a dedicated and compassionate Physiotherapist with a passion for working with stroke survivors? Stroke Survivors Australia is seeking a skilled and motivated professional to join our team as a Physiotherapist. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of stroke survivors, helping them regain independence, improve their functional abilities, and enhance their quality of life. This position is also open to 3rd party contracts.
Conduct comprehensive assessments of stroke survivors' physical conditions, including mobility, strength, balance, and functional abilities.
Develop individualised treatment plans tailored to each stroke survivor's specific needs and goals.
Provide evidence-based physiotherapy interventions, including gait training, therapeutic exercises, balance training, and mobility assistance, to optimise stroke survivors' recovery.
Implement specialised techniques and strategies to address hemiparesis, spasticity, and other post-stroke challenges.
Utilise technology and telehealth platforms to deliver remote physiotherapy services to stroke survivors across Australia.
Educate stroke survivors and their families on self-management techniques, home exercise programs, and strategies for daily activities.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, speech therapists, and social workers, to ensure holistic care for stroke survivors.
Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans, make necessary adjustments, and document progress accurately.
Stay updated on the latest research, advancements, and best practices in stroke rehabilitation to provide the highest standard of care.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution.
Valid registration and current membership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Physiotherapist.
Minimum [X] years of experience working as a Physiotherapist, preferably with stroke survivors.
Solid understanding of stroke rehabilitation principles, neuroanatomy, and the physical impacts of stroke.
Proficiency in using technology and telehealth platforms to deliver remote services.
Strong communication skills to effectively engage and educate stroke survivors and their families.
Empathy, patience, and a person-centered approach in delivering care.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage a caseload effectively.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education in stroke rehabilitation.
