About the Role

Stroke Survivors Australia (SSA) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting stroke survivors and their families across Australia. We provide vital resources, education, and community engagement programs to help stroke survivors regain their independence and improve their quality of life. To sustain and expand our services, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Volunteer Fundraising Manager to join our team.


  • Develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies to support the mission and programs of Stroke Survivors Australia.

  • Conduct research and identify potential funding sources, including grants, corporate sponsorships, individual donors, and community partnerships.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, sponsors, and community organisations.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling fundraising campaigns and materials to engage supporters and drive donations.

  • Organise and manage fundraising events, both virtual and in-person, to raise funds and increase awareness of Stroke Survivors Australia.

  • Establish and monitor fundraising goals, track progress, and provide regular reports to the organization's leadership team.

  • Provide support and guidance to volunteers involved in fundraising activities.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to fundraising, and adapt strategies accordingly.


  • Previous experience in fundraising or related roles, preferably in the not-for-profit sector.

  • Proven track record of successfully implementing fundraising initiatives and achieving financial targets.

  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills to engage and retain donors and sponsors.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities to create compelling fundraising materials and engage with stakeholders.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Familiarity with the Australian fundraising landscape and regulations is preferred but not required.
